Actor Jon Voight was mobbed by the media when he appeared at the Xcel Center for the Republican National Convention's third day. During an afternoon otherwise filled with chatter and speculation about what Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, will say in her speech tonight, the Academy Award winner's presence came as a welcome respite.
Despite being squashed into a crowded hallway, Voight looked very much in his element as he took the opportunity to hold court on Senator Obama, Russia, and Georgia...

1. Looking at the DNC convention. They had John Kerry as a speaker. This john kerry, was so called "swiftboated", by personnel that served with him in Viet-Nam.
These so called "swiftboaters", over "200" call him a "Fake, Lair, and Phony".
The democraps hold this man and his word in great honor?
You, the America people, do you think that over 200 Navy vets, would conspire to destroy this person???
Why? Why? Would any thinking person wish to associate themselves with a party and to personnel, that holds this sort of person in high esteem???
Unless their value system is based on the same and do not mind, Fakes, Lairs and Phonies.

3. I cannot believe that any person with half a mind cannot see that obama has no qualifications. He has been in office less than 200 days. Cannot speak for himself without making blunders. Their love for America is in question. Thank God he was not our President on 9/11. Know your facts, then vote with some kind of intelligence PLEASE.

4. Thank God we have people in America like John McCain and Sarah Palin. Jon Voight is right on the money, as the WORLD VIEW of our country is absolutely critical in creating peace and bringing liberty to those who need it most. Democracy will always be the most fair and productive way of allowing citizens to have their own voice in their government, and the USA must hold that standard high as the example for our brothers and sisters around the globe. Socialism ( Obama's platform) doesn't work, and we've seen it time and again. Communism doesn't work(Russia's attack on Georgia is a perfect example of big government attempting to squash democracy). The only way that we will ever truly attain world peace is to support: independence in government;proper health and human services for all;global commerce.

5. What happened to John Voight to turn him into such a vile, hateful right winger?
Way back in the fall of 1972, John Voight was a guest at my parents home for dinner while he was appearing at fundraisers for the McGovern-Shriver ticket in the Chicago area. Since I was getting a giant $25/week to run the Northfield Township office (Glenview, Northbrook), I exercised my prerogative and selected my folks as the place for his homemade dinner one night. He was an incredibly polite, nice, thoughtful, and kind dinner guest. One can only wonder what turned him into such a hateful person -- too much money? Who knows? What a shame.

6. Jon Voight is right on the money. For people to really think Obama is qualified to run this country shows much stupidity on their part. Joe Biden is a 2nd coming of Jimmy Carter, the most ill-equipped person to ever be elected. Shows what electing on the "rebound" can do. John McCain and his running mate are the change this country needs.

7. I believe it will be a huge surprise at the voting booths when the time comes. When no one can see and individuals stand alone in the privacy of the voting booth, they will lose all political correctness and vote for anyone other than Obama or Hillary. The Dems screwed up, if you want my opinion. They should have run Hillary as Pres and Obama as VP, then it might have been a struggle. But to do the opposite would defy reason ... Obama knows if he had Hillary as a running mate, he'd never live long enough to do anything as President... folks have a way of dropping dead around the Clintons.

8. I am soooo jazzed up about McCain and Palin. A win-win situation.

9. These Republicans are pure evil. Anyone who does not see through their rhetoric must be blind. Palin, McCain, Giuliani, Mitt Romney and many others represent pure evil. How do these people sleep at night? If the republicans win we are guaranteed to fight another war. They are an evil class of people that are constantly demeaning anyone whose view is different than theirs.

10. This message is for Daniel-Just because John Voight is a conservative that doesn't make him a bad and hateful person. You live in America-did you forget that we have freedom of choice. That is what makes this country so great. Each person is entitled to their opinion based on their beliefs and values. Just because you are for Obama, it doesn't mean your opinion is right and anyone that votes Republican is wrong. Just because you like hot dogs, it doesn't mean I have to like them, it's my prerogative.

11. To: Daniel Lauber and Lio
Did you watch the same video as the rest of us???? Oh... I will assume that your comments came merely from the fact that he dosen't agree with you. Remember our freedom of speech??? Oh...sorry - you liberals only mention that freedom as it pertains to your own rhetoric.

12. The right is absolutely...right. What we need is another 4 years of inarticulate power mongers eroding the Constitution, financing an ill advised war at the sum of 10 billion a month. Stem cell reseach is silly anyway. Who cares that boomers are aging every moment and will need relief from disease? We all have too much money anyway so the decimated dollar is irrelevant. The fact that a woman's right to choose, at the risk of sounding hopelessly elitist, will just mean more under educated, under employed future Americans while China continues to dominate the world of economics. The only entity not concerned is Walmart. The beauty of it all lies in the ability of China to loan the U.S. money and THEN have us buy their products via Walmart. And that pesky global warming thing is just pesky.
Meanwhile, the great unwashed masses need to dash off to Adult ED and learn Chinese because if we vote staus quo, we will be speaking Chinese in no time.

13. You may not like Jon Voight, but he is giving an accurate account when it comes to socialized medicine. Do some research and you'll find that its worse than dealing with HMOs. When doctors get less than they would like to charge, their quality goes down. Plus, the wait to see a dr. is sometimes too long.
But thats okay, just as long as it doesnt interfere with the derelicts who seem to have plenty of money for nice cars and manicures.

14. obama has absolutely no record of running anything nothing nada nichts.he can deliver a beautiful speech, that is all he has.
can you believe a guy with zero zero zero on his accomplishments would question the ability of a very popular governor?
(honestly he can not run a sub-division)

15. hossein obama can NOT run a hat store, that's why he became a community coordinator.
my dear americans please open your eyes and try to find any of obama's accomplishments and if you find any i mean any than vote.

16. I do not see where the Republicans can do any of us an ounce of good. We have men and women dying in the field and 47 million of our citizens with no health care and all they can say is tax cuts. Tax cuts for who? I am disgusted with our country and we are rapidly becoming a third world nation. I served in Viet Nam and thought I was defending our country and our way of life. However, during the last fourty years of lousey political leadership of both parties our people are losing not only thier jobs but thier standard of living. When I vote I am voting for the people I think will represent all people not just the rich and powerful.
