So, I'm the weepy, sappy one here at Propeller - almost never met an ideal I didn't like, and I cry if you blow on me - so you can imagine how swept away I was last night by Michelle Obama's speech.
Maybe it's that hers and Barack's story feels so close to my own family's: young Americans struggling to raise their children well. My mother was a Latin American immigrant and, in Michelle's speech, I heard a lot of what she would have liked to hear - messages about equality, humility, and... for goodness sake... love. This was what really got me. The love. For the first time in my life I saw someone in a political environment not sounding like they were made of wood, or mechanically spouting an agenda. What I heard in Michelle Obama's speech was Michelle Obama: person, woman, American, wife, mother. And in all of those identities is where I think we'll find... First Lady.

1. Omg, I couldn't agree more! I watched it twice already today on youtube. That's how moved I was. I was in tears about 70% of her speech. She is real, she is intelligent, she is honest, and she encapsulates strength. She's my kind of woman all around. I have to say that when I was watching her, I truly felt like I was already watching our First Lady- that's how clear that picture was for me. Isn't it amazing that our President-to-be just so happens to be married to one of the most amazingly poised, inspiring, and eleoquent women to ever grace politics with her presence? What a pair! I can't wait to see them in action come Jan!!

3. Just keep in mind, caren and dallas18, someone known as a "speech-writer" put those words into her mouth, and she is "part of the problem" being a hospital administrator. Sen. Obama has not given one shred of detail on how "he" will "change" America for the better, either. Sen. Biden is far and away more suited and experienced to be our next President. Do your research, girls.

5. Something I have been wondering about. If Obama is so great and he is from Chicago, where is Richie Daley and Jesse Jackson??? I sure have not seen them out stomping for Obama and I find this highly unusual. Something about him we don't know about??
