Propeller At The 2008 National Conventions

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be on the floor of the national political conventions? Or have you ever wanted to interview a delegate yourself about the issues of the day? Well, now is your chance!

Propeller Senior Editor James Marcus and Video Producer Alexia Prichard will be your eyes and ears on the floor, bringing you video and audio coverage throughout the convention. We've partnered with Nokia to use their N95 cell phones for filming, and Kyte.tv for live video streaming. But we will need your input to know what to ask all the delegates. So please, leave a comment below with your question(s), or site mail either of us. We're eager to pose your questions, and will credit you on air whenever possible.

Now, as you can imagine, the convention floors themselves will be flooded with data and microwave traffic, and from time to time our little cell-phone streams may not be able to bust through. In such cases, the floor coverage will appear on this page as soon as our phones are in data range again--usually within 30 minutes after the video was shot. We will also be featuring regular blog posts on subjects large and small. So keep checking this page for the latest from the convention!

Last but not least: we will be staying in touch with the community via a dedicated Twitter feed, which you can find here. We urge Propeller members with an appetite for politics (and that includes a lot of you!) to create a Twitter account, which is fast and free and requires no software downloads of any kind. Then, search for PropellerDNC and indicate that you would like to follow that feed. You will now receive moment-by-moment bulletins from the convention (don't worry, you can turn it off whenever you like). And even better, you can send us messages in real time, chiming in during interviews and rambling circuits of the floor. We want to hear from you!

Prop on!
